It is our hope that we can stand in the shoes of these incredible kids and their families, by offering the support, entertainment, and attention that often goes unnoticed.
Together, we recognize the importance of supporting siblings of those medically challenged, disabled, and hospitalized by offering the inspiration to continue forward, one step at a time. It is our hope that we can stand in the shoes of these incredible kids and their families, by offering the support, entertainment, and attention that often goes unnoticed.
The relationship between siblings often goes far beneath the surface. While at times, you may think you have been given an awfully realistic punching bag or a wall to scream at – that happens to have eyes, nose and a mouth – there is so much love, love that forms a bond that only the most cruel things can break. And unfortunately, for many children across the world, their bond has been torn apart by evil diseases, long hospital stays, and challenging disabilities. Filled with anxiety and worry, children are faced with a long and confusing journey, steered by hope and love, to understand the obstacle their family has been forced to accept.
Having a medically challenged child requires constant appointments, surgeries, medications, attention, and stress for parents, especially behind the scenes. As a sibling, just trying to understand is nearly an impossible task, which often leaves kids feeling as if they are left outside this bubble that can’t be popped. Despite the confusion and uncertainty, kids still have to spend hours in waiting rooms, see their parents cry with fear, watch their siblings get strapped with tubes, listen to the tantrums over medications, a never-ending battle that they can’t even fight.
Your contribution will enable us to help provide support to siblings of those in need. We will be creating waiting room 'kits' for siblings who accompany a multitude of appointments.
